Our story

We are the founders of the processing of organic cereals; we have been processing cereals from kernel to end product for over forty years. We do this according to a unique, authentic production process in which taste and quality, in addition to transparency and sustainability, are central.

De Halm is the only organic breakfast cereal factory in the Netherlands where all process steps from flattening the grain to packaging in bulk and consumer packaging are done within the company.

De Halm was founded in 1977 by a few organic pioneers. At the time, they already recognised that organic food is the future and were already processing local and sustainably grown cereals. Initially, this happened in farmers’ barns in the region. In 1985, the first official company building was put into service. This building is still home to the current flakery.

Our people, our mastery

Mastery is not just about selecting the best raw materials and having a unique process. Most of our mastery stems from our people, our masters. There is no such thing as a cereal flaker training and it takes years to master this process to perfection. In addition, the mixing and packaging of breakfast products is a mastery in itself; disciplines that our masters have mastered to the smallest detail. Our close-knit team is committed to making the most beautiful breakfast products with knowledge, love and passion. Your product is our concern.
